Endless Summer

This summer is endless for real. All the homies started coming into town this weekend for the movie premiers and ASR trade show so I blogged the hell out it. Check out the most extreme Labor Day ever!

We started at Liam’s ramp where I picked up Nick Dirks and Jared Hadi. Here Nick is laying down his first ever crail slide.

All the homies hanging, some bad boy sodas and cigs. Artsy.

We drove down to San Diego to pick up Louif Paradis at the airport then went to the Washington St. skatepark. That place is seriously heavy, so big, so steep, even Nick and Jared who skate Burnside said it was gnarly. The photos dont give it justice.

After a quick session at the park, we skated downtown SD to get some food and check out the city.

We ate some sweet pizza then dropped the hammer back up to Encinitas to hit the surf with Curtis Ciszek and Nitro photog Mark Welsh. Mellow day in So Cal.

WEIRD INDIA footage

This past February Chad Otterstrom, Ryan Thompson, Steve Fisher, James Fredrick, Jenn Sherowski, photog Eric Bergi and myself went to India to shoot a story for the mag. Check out this footage I shot on my elf camera in New Delhi, it was some of the wildest stuff I have seen in while.
ROCK BAND

I came home from work a few nights ago to Robbie Sell, Jared Johnson, Jared Henderson and my roommate Chicken playing Rock Band with the volume blasting. I admit the game is addicting, but do you think our neighbors were just as hyped as these guys….? Watch the video to hear what their “band” sounds like.

AUGUST POW RUNS

Last week I took a few days off to relax and collect my thoughts. I went to Bariloche, Argentina and hung out at SASS snowboard camp. I was lucky and got a few days of powder… Check out this video.
ALMOST DONE… EXPORTING
by carlinoj | Aug 23, 2008 | | 1 Comment
Today I’m export the final bonus sections and the final movie. I have been here 13-15 hours a day for the last few. Lucky there is this local pizza place that delivers but you have to order at $20 worth, so I got a 18in cheese pizza and garlic bread and I have been eating it for like 2 days. Mellow. The premier for These Days is Sept 4th at the wave house in Mission Beach, its open to anyone and is free!

Hummmmm? You all know the saying, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” right? Well, I considered that true before blogs started popping up left and right. This photo of TWS rookie of the year and Volcom filmer Jake Price says it all. Check out Jake’s, Austin’s and Curtis’(they share one)blog for all the pics that I couldn?t post here.

WHY ARE BOARDING MOVIES ALL SLOW MOTION?
by carlinoj | Aug 13, 2008 | | 6 Comments
Since Panasonic introduced the new HVX200 that shoots on P2 cards we have seen soooooo much over use of slow motion. Everyone is shooting at 60fps(frames per second), normal speed, ?real time? motion is 29.97fps(30) to be exact. So why shoot everything twice as slow as real life? The answer came to me when I was watching the Dave Chappelle show and Dave explains how everything in life looks better slow. Check is out.
