WHY ARE BOARDING MOVIES ALL SLOW MOTION?
by carlinoj | Aug 13, 2008 |
Since Panasonic introduced the new HVX200 that shoots on P2 cards we have seen soooooo much over use of slow motion. Everyone is shooting at 60fps(frames per second), normal speed, ?real time? motion is 29.97fps(30) to be exact. So why shoot everything twice as slow as real life? The answer came to me when I was watching the Dave Chappelle show and Dave explains how everything in life looks better slow. Check is out.

slo mo has always been associated with snowboard movies…like watching one big ender part. real time is bangin. but then theres the fast paced intros that jamie thomas puts together vs. baker/bootleg nonsense.

Slow brings out the epic, which is usually taken for granted…
It takes a true artisan to know when to speed up and slooow downnnn.

I like when they show a shot in slow then in real. I cant afford the HVX200 so time remapping in motion does the job for me, haha. but im usually a staunch after effects user
